Meet Ikea
Ikea is currently obtaining a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Tufts University School of Medicine. She has obtained a bachelor’s of science in Exercise Physiology from ECU. Upon graduation she will be working alongside the Sacramento branch of Spine and Sport Physical Therapy.

Ikea is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, a certified personal trainer and a certified aquatic therapist. She grew up all around the world as an Army brat; born in Germany and spent a majority of her childhood in Japan.

Fun fact: Ikea is a twin and can speak three different languages. She has a passion for exercise and rehabilitation. Ikea has been in the world of exercise for over 10 years. Her career began in exercise as an intern for the U.S. Army Special Forces specializing in physical therapy and strengthening and conditioning. After completing this internship she branched off to become an aquatic therapist, personal trainer, exercise specialist, and a stretch therapist for a major hospital in eastern NC. In 2020 Ikea relocated to Sacramento, CA and became a wellness coordinator for a senior living community where she specialized in exercise and aquatic therapy operations while training alongside F45 Sacramento Midtown in the fall of 2020. Since then, she have also had the honor of partnering with the wonderful organization we have come to know as The KEY Community as a Wellness Mentor for U.S. Veterans. She strives to continue to educate as many as she can on the practice of using exercise as medicine to increase quality of life and longevity. In her spare time, Ikea likes to travel, model, act, and is a devoted mother to her doxiepoo, Alana Marie. When it comes to training and rehabilitation Ikea loves the atmosphere created, the commitment, and electric energy every person she has met on this journey. It’s the grit of it all and she is proud to be a part of a community that is committed to bettering themselves even on the tough days because self preservation is a must.
